PHOENICIA. Tyre. 126/5 BC-AD 65/6. Shekel (Silver, 25 mm, 14.24 g, 1 h), CY 122 = 5/4 BC. Laureate head of Melkart to right, lion skin tied around neck. Rev. TYPOY IEPAΣ KAI AΣYΛOY Eagle standing left on prow, wings closed and with palm frond behind; to left, ΡKB above club; to right, KP above monogram of MI; between eagle's legs, 𐤁 (B in Punic). DCA Tyre 443 (R2; same dies). HGC 10, 357 var. (unlisted dat). RPC I 4647C. Extremely rare date. The obverse is struck off center and with some scratches and deposits, otherwise, very fine.
